Acid Stains
Acid stains allows you to transform dull concrete into a multi-colored modern look.
Chemical staining penetrates existing concrete and reacts chemically to create, uneven, variegated, or translucent color effects that simulate the prized look of weathered stone or the aged appearance of a timeworn patina.
The result is unique to each application and can not be duplicated with other coloring materials. Unlike conventional paints or coatings that flake and peel, chemical staining slightly etches the concrete to achieve deeper and more permanent color penetration.
Special color effects are achieved by using the same stain for two or more applications on the existing concrete. Shaded colors can be produced by blending two or more different stains. Sequenced colors can be produced by using a different stain for each application.
Clear sealers for interior, exterior, or commercial uses protect surfaces from UV, staining and highlight the variegated effects of a Chemical stain finish.
Chemical staining and scoring can be combined with stamping techniques and saw cutting techniques to create a one of a kind concrete floor.
Acid stains are applied directly over existing concrete with brush or pump-up spray using different faux or artistic techniques.
It can be applied in one coat or multiple coats with one color or several, depending on the desired look.
Each coat should dry a minimum of three to four hours before being neutralized. After the desired color is achieved, the floor should be cleaned and sealed. |
